Empowering Youth Through Skills Development
Young people are a vital force for social and economic development. However, many young women and men in rural communities face barriers to education, vocational training, and access to decent employment. Equipping them with relevant skills and practical knowledge is essential to helping them build productive and independent lives.
Expanding access to market-relevant skills and vocational training for rural youth.
Through the Economic Acceleration and Resilience for NEET (EARN) Project, WAVE Foundation aims to expand opportunities for young people aged 18–35 who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET). The project focuses on connecting youth with skills development opportunities that respond to labour-market needs and emerging economic opportunities.
The initiative supports access to vocational and technical training, helping participants develop practical competencies for employment and self-employment. Alongside technical skills, young people can strengthen their communication, confidence, decision-making, and other social and emotional skills that are important for success in the workplace and everyday life.
