Creating Opportunities for Every Young Woman

When young women have access to skills, training, and economic opportunities, the benefits extend beyond individuals to families and entire communities. Yet many young women continue to face barriers to participation in education, vocational training, and employment, particularly in rural areas.

When young women have access to skills, training, and economic opportunities, the benefits extend beyond individuals to families and entire communities. Yet many young women continue to face barriers to participation in education, vocational training, and employment, particularly in rural areas.

The Economic Acceleration and Resilience for NEET (EARN) Project seeks to make skills development and livelihood opportunities more inclusive for young women and other underserved youth. Implemented by WAVE Foundation in its designated project areas, the initiative aims to reach young people aged 18–35 who are not in education, employment, or training.

The project places particular emphasis on women’s participation, with a target of at least 60% female trainees. This focus is intended to help more young women access relevant training and prepare for employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship.

Promoting inclusive learning, confidence and economic empowerment, especially for women.

Skills development can help young women build confidence, improve their professional capabilities, and explore new livelihood opportunities. Access to information, counselling, market-oriented training, and employment connections can also help them make informed decisions about their futures.

Creating an enabling learning environment is equally important. The safety, dignity, and participation of women and vulnerable young people must be respected throughout training and related activities.

WAVE Foundation recognises that empowering young women is essential to inclusive economic growth. By helping young women develop their skills and access opportunities, the EARN Project seeks to support a future where every young woman can pursue her aspirations and contribute to her community’s prosperity.
